Jedi seek knowledge and wisdom of the way of the World to achieve an enlightened state, but to also help preserve peace in the world. By using the Force to guide them, and keeping a calm and collected demeanor, a Jedi is a good inspirational figure for others to follow. Jedi follow a Code. This code teaches a Jedi to uphold self-discipline and respect, and encourages public service. By following the Code, and with regular meditation, a Jedi can learn to control his or her emotions, and thus be able to act rationally, rather than letting their emotions govern their lives. "If the ways of the Jedi were easy, there'd be millions of us instead of dozens" The way of the Jedi is a path of personal descovery. A Jedi is encouraged to learn to understand themselves and to push their limits so as to create a fulfilled life. Once a Jedi understands him or herself, he will be happy and confident with his position in life. Then he can go on to understand others around him, so as to understand the way the world works.
